Dance away the heartaches...

We don't really get enough dance at the Festival Fringe - that may, in part, be down to the lack of really good dance floors. Last year some poor souls were dancing on the concrete floor of the Pauper's Pit. This year the Infant School Hall will be a welcome venue.

Anyway we have three dances to watch and one to join in with this year. One of the dances may well be the shortest performance of the whole Fringe - starting at 2pm on July 21st and finishing five minutes later. "Proprioception" may be over before you've said it - but it must be worth 5 minutes of your life.

Split Soul's dance includes poetry and is the moving story of two young women and how they come to meet. A bit of reflection there it seems.

Different emotions and dynamics will be on offer from Siyaya Arts if their show last year is anything to go by. Their high octane singing and dancing won over audiences and critics alike.
For those that want to dance rather than watch there is a Salsa session on July 13th starting at 8pm. You'd better be young, fit and sexy for salsa - needless to say the Blog team will be there in force.

Not in the Fringe - but on the streets of Buxton all over the place on the 7th will be Morris dancers of all traditions and styles. The event is organised by the Chapel-en-le-Frith Morris Men. Powderkegs from Whaley Bridge are always crowd pleasers - though some prefer the more elegant styles on view. Be in the Fringe next year Chapel Morris and we'll include a picture!
